Volunteers at the Creek

Volunteers at the Creek is a volunteer service organization of addictive substance abusers in recovery. Most of the volunteer members are mental health consumers with dual diagnoses. Their “clients” are patients or former patients of Shoal Creek Hospital, or simply members of the local community with chemical dependence and mental health issues. Volunteers at the Creek introduces newcomers and re-newcomers to the world of recovery. They accomplish this mission by helping individuals make the vital connections to temporary sponsors and peer support groups, and by offering educational programs on the 12 steps to recovery.
